This Privacy Policy describes how Europe Air Alert / Air Alert ("Air Alert", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Air Alert mobile application, widgets, notifications, and related backend services.

Air Alert is designed to show public safety alerts and shelter information. It is not an official emergency service. Always follow instructions from local authorities and official emergency channels.

Information We Collect

Device and app identifiers

We collect technical identifiers needed to operate the app, including:

Apple Push Notification service (APNs) device tokens, used to deliver alert and all-clear notifications for regions you choose.
Apple App Attest identifiers and session tokens, used to protect our backend from unauthorized automated access.
Basic platform metadata, such as iOS platform and push notification environment.

We do not use these identifiers for advertising tracking.

Selected regions and notification preferences

If you choose regions to monitor, we store the selected region identifiers together with your push token so we can send relevant notifications. For example, if you follow Kyiv, we need to know that this device should receive Kyiv alert and all-clear notifications.

Location

If you grant location permission, the app may use your device location to:

Center the map near you.
Show shelters near your current position.
Calculate distances to shelters.

When you request nearby shelters, your latitude and longitude may be sent to our backend to return nearby shelter results. We do not sell your location. We do not use your location for advertising tracking. We do not intentionally build a history of your movements. Location requests may be processed transiently and may appear in temporary operational logs maintained by our infrastructure providers.

You can disable location access at any time in iOS Settings.

Purchase and subscription status

Air Alert may offer optional paid features, such as subscriptions or a lifetime purchase to remove ads or unlock premium features. Payments are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store your full payment card details.

We may receive and store purchase status, entitlement status, product identifiers, renewal status, and transaction identifiers needed to provide paid features, restore purchases, prevent fraud, and support billing issues.

Advertising data

Air Alert may show ads in the future using Google AdMob or similar advertising providers. If ads are enabled, advertising providers may collect or receive data such as device identifiers, advertising identifiers where permitted, approximate location, ad interactions, diagnostics, and other information described in their own policies.

Where required by law, we will ask for consent before using personalized ads or tracking technologies. If you purchase an ad-free subscription or lifetime ad removal, ads will be removed according to the product terms.

Diagnostics and operational data

We may collect limited technical data needed to operate, secure, debug, and improve the service, such as request timestamps, HTTP status codes, source health information, error logs, and backend audit events. We do not use this data to track you across apps or websites.

How We Use Information

We use information to:

Provide alert maps, shelter search, widgets, and notifications.
Send push notifications for regions you choose.
Protect backend endpoints using Apple App Attest.
Maintain app reliability and detect source or backend failures.
Provide subscriptions, lifetime purchases, ad removal, and purchase restoration.
Show ads if advertising is enabled.
Comply with legal obligations and App Store requirements.

Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal information.

We may share limited information with service providers that help us operate the app, including:

Apple, for App Store distribution, push notifications, App Attest, and in-app purchases.
Cloudflare, for backend hosting, database, security, and request processing.
Google AdMob or other advertising providers, if ads are enabled.
Analytics, crash, diagnostics, or payment entitlement providers, if added in the future.

These providers process information according to their own terms and privacy policies.

Data Retention

We keep device tokens, selected regions, and related notification records for as long as needed to provide notifications or until they are replaced, removed, or become invalid. Invalid APNs tokens may be deleted automatically.

Operational logs and audit records are retained only as long as reasonably needed for security, debugging, service reliability, and legal compliance.

Purchase records may be retained as long as needed to provide paid features, restore purchases, resolve billing issues, and comply with legal obligations.

Your Choices

You can:

Disable push notifications in iOS Settings or inside the app.
Remove monitored regions in the app.
Disable location access in iOS Settings.
Restore or manage subscriptions through your Apple ID settings.
Request deletion of backend data associated with your device by contacting us.

Children

Air Alert is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

International Use

Your information may be processed in countries other than your own, including where our service providers operate infrastructure.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date and, where appropriate, provide notice in the app or through the App Store listing.
